1. Acceptance of these Terms
Welcome to ppofca.org (the "Site"), operated by Peer Professionals of California ("PPOFCA," "we," "our," or "us").
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. If this is an emergency
The Site is not for emergencies.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are in crisis or need someone to talk to, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We do not monitor this Site, its forms, or its inbox around the clock. Do not use them to report an emergency or an urgent safety concern. We cannot guarantee that a message sent through this Site will be seen in time to respond to an urgent situation.
3. Who we are
Peer Professionals of California is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization headquartered in San Diego, California. We provide peer support, reentry navigation, and community health worker services.
We are not a government agency. We are not a Medi-Cal managed care plan, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the California Department of Health Care Services, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, or any county behavioral health department, except where a specific contractual relationship is separately disclosed.
Where our materials reference CalAIM, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Community Supports, or Medi-Cal, we do so to describe programs our participants may be eligible for through their own health plans. We do not administer these programs or determine eligibility for them.
We will never ask you for payment, your Social Security number, or your bank account information in order to receive our services.
4. Not professional advice
Information on this Site is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, mental health, clinical, legal, or financial advice, and using the Site does not create a provider-patient, therapist-client, or attorney-client relationship.
Peer support is a distinct form of support delivered by people with lived experience. It is not a substitute for licensed clinical care, medical treatment, or legal representation. Please consult a qualified professional about your individual situation.
5. No guarantee of services
Submitting a referral, application, or inquiry through the Site does not guarantee that services will be provided to you.
Our capacity is limited, and eligibility for particular programs is determined by the funders, health plans, and agencies that operate them — not by us. We may decline or discontinue services at our discretion, consistent with our program policies and any applicable contractual obligations.
6. Eligibility
The Site is intended for use by individuals 18 years of age or older, or by a parent or guardian acting on behalf of a minor. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.

The Site contains links to third-party organizations, resources, and service providers, offered for your convenience.
We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices, or the services they provide. A link does not constitute an endorsement. Review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site before providing information to it.
11. Donations
Donations made through the Site support our programs and operations.
PPOFCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 92-3438907). Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We will provide a receipt for your records. No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations unless expressly stated at the time of the gift.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error or processed incorrectly, contact us at [EMAIL] and we will work with you in good faith to resolve it.
If you set up a recurring donation, you may cancel it at any time by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect for future payments and does not refund payments already processed.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or its servers are free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Site.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PPOFCA and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site — including loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PPOFCA and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
15. Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
17. General provisions
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PPOFCA regarding the Site, and supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
